If you enjoy a bit of crunch and a mild, nutty flavor in your gluten-free whole grain bread, these toasted hemp seeds are an excellent addition. They’re quick and simple to prepare and add texture whether sprinkled on top of loaves or mixed into the dough. While many seeds can be used in gluten-free baking, hemp seeds benefit from toasting because their outer shell is relatively hard; softer seeds like sesame do not always require toasting. Use these toasted hemp seeds on breads, salads, or any recipe that could use a toasty, nutty note.
Seeds that commonly complement gluten-free bread include hemp, flax, poppy, sesame, sunflower, and pumpkin.
