Spooky Halloween Cocktail Recipe: An All Hallows’ Eve Drink

So she slipped him a potion into a drink, And sweetly she smiled and offered a sip.

She waited for years, all of eighteen
To slip through the veil on a cold Halloween night.
Once a year the witches were granted one hour
On All Hallow’s Eve to walk free and to flower.

They drifted like leaves on a gust of crisp air,
Dancing and laughing without a care.
But she paused, as if held by a spell,
A mortal man caught her eye — she fell.

She kept her truth hidden and wove soft deceit,
Spun a web of charm with smiles bittersweet.
He fell for her gaze and the curl of her hair,
The tilt of her mouth and a strangely bewitching air.

He drew her close; she felt lighter than air,
A fierce hunger flamed: she wanted him there.
But the trees whispered warnings; the wind breathed alarm:
Their love crossed a line and threatened all charm.

These two separate worlds were never meant to meet,
Yet on All Hallow’s Eve fate tested the feat.
Like sands in an hourglass, the hours grew thin,
And longing and fear coaxed them toward sin.

His smile was sunlight; her world was night-black.
She could not remain, but she could bring him back.
So she slipped a slow potion into his glass —
Smiled and offered it sweetly, and bade time pass.

He did not know the taste; he drank without thought.
The moment dissolved; what she wanted was bought.
As the moon faded and the stars paled and waned,
She tried to cross back through the veil she had strained.

But her magic drained; the spells in her veins ran dry.
He was trapped in the darkness; she remained at the sky.
All Hallow’s Eve ended; the balance restored,
Left two lonely hearts on their separate shores.

So she slipped him a potion into a drink And sweetly she smiled and offered a sip.
