Updated Nighttime Skincare Routine for Glowing Skin Tonight

Nighttime Skincare Routine

I’m unabashedly obsessed with skincare. I love discovering products that deliver glowing, healthy-looking skin, and over the years I’ve built a dependable evening routine that keeps my complexion calm, hydrated, and radiant. I test a lot of new things, but the following steps are what I’ve landed on recently for my nightly ritual.

This routine isn’t required for everyone — you don’t need every product listed to get good results — but it works well for my combination, slightly dry and sensitive skin. Most nights it takes me about 10 minutes, and it feels like a little self-care moment at the end of the day.

My Current Nighttime Skincare Routine

1. Tatcha Pure One-Step Camellia Oil Cleanser. I use this as the first step in a double cleanse. It removes makeup and impurities, even heavy eye makeup, without needing cloths or pads — it rinses clean with water. Enriched with nourishing fatty acids, it leaves skin feeling soft and non-greasy.

2. Tatcha The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder (Calming). After the oil cleanse I use this powder-to-foam exfoliant. Mixed with water, it creates a gentle foam that softly exfoliates and improves skin texture without irritation. It’s helped reduce persistent blackheads on my chin and nose. It’s available in several formulations for different skin types.

3. Avène Eau Thermal Thermal Spring Water. I don’t use an active toner daily, but I like a light mist to help balance and soothe skin after cleansing. Spritzing thermal spring water feels refreshing, softens the skin, and prepares it for serums and moisturizers. It’s a simple step that adds a calming layer before treatment products.

4. Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum. This lightweight, hydrating serum is great for winter or dry skin. It combines grape water, hyaluronic acid, and squalane to soothe and plump skin instantly. It absorbs quickly, allowing moisturizers to glide on smoothly. I use two pumps morning and night.

5. True Botanicals Antioxidant Booster. I add one shake of this antioxidant powder into my hydrating serum. It brightens and evens tone, and the blend leaves my skin with a healthy glow. A little goes a long way, so the product lasts a while.

I usually let the serum-plus-booster absorb while I brush my teeth, then continue with a rich cream.

6. SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2. This is a very nourishing night cream that replenishes essential skin lipids. It’s rich, non-comedogenic, and leaves skin feeling supple and bouncy by morning. It’s heavier than I’d wear during the day, but it’s ideal for nighttime repair. Lately I’ve also been trying Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream, which is a bit lighter and similarly effective; I may switch depending on how my skin responds.

7. Biossance Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel. My eye area is sensitive, and this gentle gel hydrates without irritation. It absorbs quickly and can be used on the eyelids. For extra anti-aging or brightening benefits I use sheet eye masks once or twice a week and de-puffing masks when I need them.

8. Mother Dirt AO+ Mist. I finish with a probiotic mist that helps balance my skin. After it helped calm a bad rash last winter, it became a staple. I spritz it as the last step and have noticed fewer major skin freakouts since I started using it.

9. LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask. I apply this balm-like mask right before bed. It keeps my lips soft and hydrated overnight and is a simple, effective finishing touch to my routine.

Weekly treatment: Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial. I use this exfoliating mask about once a week. Because it’s a stronger blend of AHAs and BHAs, I skip the Rice Enzyme Powder and some serums on those nights. My typical sequence on mask nights is: oil cleanse, apply a thin layer of Babyfacial, rinse after the recommended time, spritz thermal water, and follow with a richer cream. The mask leaves my skin noticeably smooth and renewed.

Note: My skin type is combination leaning dry, sensitive, and sometimes unpredictable. What works for me may not work for you. When trying new products, it’s wise to buy from retailers with good return policies in case something doesn’t suit your skin. Tailor products and frequency to your own skin’s needs and sensitivities.
