Girl Scout cookie season doesn’t last forever, and Thin Mints are one of those favorites many of us look forward to each year. If you love mint chocolate treats, this Thin Mint freakshake is a delightful way to enjoy that crisp mint flavor. I like to keep a box of Thin Mints in the freezer—cold Thin Mints taste even better—and they make the perfect addition to a milkshake.

Freakshakes are an over-the-top milkshake trend that stacks toppings like donuts, cookies, or cake on top of a frosty shake. This recipe tones things down while still delivering the dramatic presentation: the glass is lined with melted chocolate and pressed with Thin Mint cookies, then filled with a minty milkshake and crowned with whipped cream and crushed cookie pieces for extra texture and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 – 1 1/2 cups milk
  • Thin Mint cookies (several, for blending and decorating)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate melted
  • whipped cream, for topping

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate wafers in a small microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20–30 seconds until smooth.
  • Generously spread the melted chocolate around the rim of the glass. Press Thin Mint cookies into the chocolate around the rim. Drizzle some melted chocolate inside the glass for decoration if you like, then place the glass in the freezer to set.
  • In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream, milk, and about 4 Thin Mint cookies. Blend until smooth. Add more milk to reach your preferred milkshake consistency.
  • Pour the milkshake into the chilled, chocolate-coated glass. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle crushed Thin Mint pieces over the top. Add a whole Thin Mint cookie as a garnish if desired.
